Cities: Skylines is one of the best city-builder games on the market right now, and it’s about to get even better. In the newest expansion for Colossal Order’s flagship game, a new level of joy is coming to player cities on May 25. Get ready to have some fun in Cities: Skylines Parklife.
This new expansion, as the name implies, is all about parks, theme parks, zoos and more. Gone are the days of simple ploppable parks with a tiny bit of greenery. And also gone is the need to rely on mods and meticulous creativity to create anything more expansive than the rudimentary options offered in the base game. Now players will be able to create an entire city of unique and interesting parks and attractions if they so desire.
When combined with other pieces of DLC like Green Cities and After Dark, you’ll now have all the tools you could ever need to turn your digital metropolis into a nexus of tourism and fun. One of the bigger new additions is the removal of the restriction to placing items next to roads. Items can now be plopped along other paths as well. Also, Parks can be zoned a lot like Districts and you’ll be able to place things inside those parks like you would with any other in-game object.
But it’s not just new ploppable items, updated models and customization options that are being added in Cities: Skylines Parklife. A new scripting system is being added to allow players and modders more direct control of the in-game camera. Parklife finishes things off with three new city policies and eight new park policies, focused on dealing with recreational hazards like Animal Ethics and Fireworks, there’s also five new maps.
Cities: Skylines Parklife launches on May 25 on Steam, you can pre-order now for a 10% discount too. Regular price of the DLC will be $14.99 USD in case you were wondering.
