Two new promotional videos for the newest God of War game have been released by Sony. The two trailer focus primarily on combat as well as the general mechanics in the new game.
The first of these two videos is dedicated to showing players how the new combat within God of War functions and the thought process behind its design. Director Cory Barlog and Lead Gameplay Designer Jason McDonald are featured in the video and talk about how the various systems in the game were designed. We also got a good look at gameplay of the title running on PS4 Pro. Overall it looks pretty cool.
The second video is much more general in its focus. the fifteen minute promo video shows a variety of gameplay sequences. The walkthrough also details a bit more about combat in God of War. We get to see some really great moments including the Leviathan Axe ripping through enemies. There’s some discussion of how control changes and the design mentality behind them as well.
