We’ve covered a bit of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition news before, but today we’re diving in headfirst.
The first time we saw the game, it was in the form of a highlights trailer for the roster of combatants. You can find that trailer below. Zelda, Impa and Link were all on hand to demonstrate their fighting prowess.
We’ve seen some of the characters from Wind Waker before, but in case you missed it, here’s the trailer again. The sassy pirates and cooky kings of that game will be a chaotic an interesting addition to Hyrule Warriors.
We also get to see some characters from Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. These include adorable Young Link, who has the ability to wear the beastly Fierce Deity Mask and take on the form of the titular god. Skull Kid, who serves as Majora’s avatar, is also showcased alongside Tatl and Tael. Check it out below.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks are adding in some content as well. This particular inspiration got a new trailer too, showcasing all the weird elements from that video game coming to Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition.
This new trailer focuses on two new characters. The first new addition is Agitha. A sort of insect queen who uses hordes of large and dangerous critters to mow down her enemies. While a strange new character for any other hack-and-slash, she’s probably right at home in the absurd battlefields of Hyrule.
The other new character is Zant, who uses her contortionist abilities and speed to pull off some impressive combos against her foes. The trailer spends a fair amount of time showcasing some really awesome moves and a charming little pet-pet with her Twili Wolf companion.
But not to be left out. Zelda gets her own new version as well. The ghosts from Spirit Tracks have possessed her armor and weapons, allowing her to deal out some otherworldly attacks that look to be devastating.
Look forward to seeing Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition come to the Switch on May 18, 2018. It will feature a roster of over 25 characters both old and new.
