Darksiders III got a new gameplay trailer today, showcasing a new set of obstacles in the way of Fury on their path for vengeance. That new challenge is the Charred Council.
The Charred Council is an ancient and powerful group of otherworldly overlords that act as mediators between the forces of chaos vying for power. They’re essentially a stop-gap solution to the forces of good and evil conspired to put in place to prevent mutual destruction through endless war. Of course, that’s only going to work for so long, especially once Fury starts ripping everything to bits in Darksiders III.
The death of the Charred Council, probably at the hands of Fury, will signal a true End War, which is supposed to bring balance to the forces of good and evil, and the universe at large. Why do I get the feeling that THQ Nordic is going for an Anakin Skywalker style twist with this game?
Nonetheless, it’s nice to see more lore and backstory being built up for Darksiders III. I just wish more games did this with their promotional runs prior to release.
