CCP announces EVE Online login rewards as compensation for DDoS problems

EVE Online

EVE Online has been dealing with a lot of issues lately. There have been pretty consistent DDoS attacks which made the game unplayable for days. Combined with that, is, of course, the very controversial mining changes which made many players angry. 2020 has been a weird year for CCP, and the company is looking to thank the players for sticking around with the game in these trying times.

As CCP said in a recent announcement, where they revealed some special login rewards, “Thank you, valiant pilots, for your support and understanding throughout the recent DDoS attacks. The fortitude shown by New Eden’s finest in the face of adversity is both inspiring and deeply appreciated.”

And now developer CCP has not only dealt with the ongoing issues, implementing new defenses and countermeasures against ongoing DDoS attacks, they have also compensated the player base with a nice little reward. Because EVE Online is a constant game, the process of training skills requires a consistent time investment, and although the process is mostly passive, it still relies on the servers being functional for Skill Points to accrue. So with all of that downtime has resulted in CCP handing out Skill Points as a reward.

The rewards are a one-day login bonus called the  Capsuleer Fortitude Skill Points.

Capsuleer Fortitude Skill Points will be available for redemption on all accounts between February 24th and March 9th. That gives you plenty of time to login for all of your Alpha and Omega accounts and claim up to the full reward. Alphas can receive a one-time bonus of 100,000 Skill Points, whereas Omegas get a one-time bonus of 350.000 Skill Points.
