Can you sell cars in Gran Turismo 7?

Gran Turismo 7

The new Gran Turismo has a ton of new and improved features this year. The better racing physics and visuals are a major step up. The franchise also has some really interesting upgrade systems in place. Although there are some bits players are less excited about. The new XP-driven progression system has a lot of players complaining about the lengths they have to go through to unlock new rides. On top of that, what do you do with a car that’s no longer competitive? So that begs the question, what do you do with your old cars? Can you sell them? Do you scrap them?

There’s a huge amount of different parts you can bolt onto your rides. And as you expand your garage, those options only get more varied. And as you creep up in the rankings, the competition gets more fierce. You need to have the best possible combination of cars and parts to compete and win. And when those older rides become less viable, they often outlive their usefulness. In previous years, you could sell them on, but not so much this year.

There are lots of other things to learn about this game. The big core of the grind is all about making money, or Credits. And you’re going to need a lot of them. With more than 400 cars to unlock, you have way too many options to worry about ever unlocking them all. But you can certainly try, if you’ve got the time. One of the more annoying elements in this game is that it’s much harder to get rid of your old cars once you’ve got them.

Yes, it’s true. Unlike in previous games in the Gran Turismo series, you cannot sell cars in Gran Turismo 7. Gran Turismo 7 focuses a lot more on the grind to unlock things like Collector levels, and that means grinding out races and victories. You have to do this to unlock new game modes, customization options and new parts.

Going into your Car Collection menu does not reveal the method you’re going to rely on. Instead, you need to use the Discard option. You can do this by heading to the Garage, selecting ‘Change Car’, and then hovering your cursor over the duplicate car and pressing Triangle. This sub-menu has an option to discard the car. You won’t get any parts or Credits back, so do this carefully. Although it’s not too easy to get rid of a car. If you try to discard a car that you only own one of, the game blocks the action.
