Forza Horizon 5 is a huge and open world, and it has a lot going on. There’s a lot to learn for new fans coming to the series. And even for old fans returning, there’s a lot to get used to. The new game has added new events and race types, and redone a lot of technical aspects. Forza Horizon 5 also added some new mechanics to wrangle.
There’s the newly revamped map that has tons of events broken up into the unlockable Chapters. going through the story and completing chapters and challenges is how you unlock gameplay modes like Drift Zones. There’s just a ton of stuff to do. But some players want more.
Being a massive racing sim game built around an open world, we would expect some kind of weather patterns to be a thing. After all, driving in the rain and snow is tons of fun with the added thrill. And doing it in a video game is much safer. So with the big new racing sim accelerating onto the market, players want some kind of realism.
So, can you actually manually change weather patterns? The seasons in Forza Horizon 5 are built into the game, but it’s a bit complicated.
The gist of it is that seasons in Forza Horizon 5 change every Thursday at around 9:30 AM ET. After that time, the servers choose a weather pattern to apply to races in the game modes. All players will be subject to the same seasonal patterns during that time, until the next reset.
As of launch date, there are over 500 vehicles that are in Forza Horizon 5, so players get plenty of time to experiment before the seasonal reset happens. This seasonal change also coincides with a new playlist of events each week, so there’s always something to do.
