Call of Duty: Warzone has solos mode finally

Can you play Call of Duty: Warzone solo?

Activision and Infinity Ward have finally added a solos queue to Call of Duty: Warzone, this allows players to set up for games as a single player, rather than having to be part of a team. This has been a pretty common criticism of the game since it launched, as players needed to have some friends to play with to take part in the game. You couldn’t directly play solo when the game launched, that’s finally changed.

This means that the two main game modes will finally have solo play options available. The 150-player Battle Royale mode, featuring the vicious 1v1 Gulag, will be open to all comers now. The Gulag is a special purgatory mode within the Battle Royale that a player is sent to when killed. Players are paired up within the Gulag in 1v1 firefights, and the winner gets to join back in the carnage of the main mode.

Plunder is another game mode that has a solos queue now. The Plunder mode allows players to compete as a team to grab massive stacks of cash, and hoard them, the first team to reach $1 million kicks the game into overtime. During this period, all cash collected is doubled in value, , and the team who has the most money at the end of this time is declared the winner.

Despite this problem though, the free-to-play game has found plenty of success. Call of Duty: Warzone is a completely separate game that does not need the full game to function, so that has helped it gain a fair few players. At last count, the free-to-play title has gained more than 15 million players in all.

Although if you do own the base game, there are some bonuses to unlock too. The Modern Warfare’s Battle Pass will unlock some special bonuses though, as players can sync their account to unlock some unique cosmetic items and other goodies.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
