Call of Duty: Warzone file size revealed

Call of Duty: Warzone

Warzone is the new battle royale mode that’s coming down as part of a major update to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The battle royale mode is out now for all platforms, including consoles and PC, and gamers are excited to play it. With Call of Duty: Warzone, the developers wanted a more unique feel compared to the various genre competitors in the battle royale scene.  Part of this strategy involved plopping in dozens of different vehicles and hundreds of weapons to blast around in, as well as sprawling maps that make the action incredibly frantic and fun.

The PC port of the new game mode is set to make a big splash. With the PC system requirements for the standalone game already floating around, fans have more questions. Many fans are wondering how long it will take to download the update, as it’s a separate mode within a standalone executable, not just a simple new game mode.

It’s a solid question, as even in 2020 millions of gamers are stuck with slow and metered internet that restricts how much they can download and how fast they get it.

The size of that download is clocking in at 8-22 GB, depending on your platform. So there’s your answer for Warzone’s file size.

Those who don’t one the base game are ain for the long haul though. If you don’t own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and want to download it, you’re going to be waiting a while. To access the full base game, you’re talking about a total download size between 83-101 GB, once again dependant on the platform of choice.

Owners of Modern Warfare will also get a bit fo early access to the new mode and will be able to access it at 8 am PDT. Standalone players will need to wait until 12 pm PDT to get into the massive and chaotic 150-person matches. So once you get access, be sure to hop on and start downloading, as this could take a while.
