Treyarch are going whole hog with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The FPS has an incoming beta, which will feature modes such as Control, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search & Destroy. The other modes, the Battle Royale mode with the biggest map in CoD history, and the zombie mode, will be absent from this first beta. There is a second phase of testing in September which will include these modes though.
And ever since Zombies were introduced with the Nazi Zombies mode in Call of Duty: World at War, players have been ravenous for the mode in other games. One could say that gamers had an endless hunger for zombies.
This iteration of zombies even has a cohesive story to it. Black Ops 4’s Zombies focuses on Scarlett Rhodes, who battles the shambling hordes in an effort to uncover the circumstances surrounding her father’s disappearance. That story is the focus of this newest trailer.
Aside from the story, players can expect many of the usual trappings of sprawling maps and different challenges such as puzzles and unique enemies blocking your progress. The devs have said that this version will be a bit of a departure though from previous modes. This mode will be much darker in terms of tone compared to previous outings.
Treyarch has also revealed that they plan to continually improve the mode with seasonal events, in-game challenges and other post-launch content.
