Call of Cthulhu has a terrifying and strange launch trailer

Call of Cthulhu - Gameplay Trailer #2

Cyanide Studio and Focus Home Interactive are getting extremely close to the release of Call of Cthulhu, the horror adventure game they’ve been quietly working on for the last few months.

The newest trailer for the game gives the viewer a glimpse of what the beginning of the game will look like. There’s also some teases of a bunch of gameplay mechanics and story elements. During said trailer we see a bit of what happened to Sarah Hawkins. Through a series of flashbacks and jumps forward, the viewer sees Sarah running from an unseen terror, before we jump back to a happier time. The segment with something a lot sadder as we find the body of young woman in the woods.

Call of Cthulhu is an adaptation of the classic pen-and-paper RPG of the same name revolving around investigator Edward Pierce. Pierce has his own demons to battle, like PTSD and alcoholism, and since he’s investigating the mysterious death of Sarah Hawkins he’ll have to battle a lot of dark and evil forces as well. All of these backdrops ties into the gameplay as well. The gameplay revolves around investigation with a health mix of horror, and even some resource management, except the resource is your own sanity. In short, if you want a bit more depth to your horror games beyond a walking simulator, Call of Cthulhu may be for you.

Call of Cthulhu will be launching on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 30, 2018. Check out the launch trailer for the game down below.
