Brawlhalla and Steven Universe are getting a crossover

Brawlhalla and Steven Universe

The incredibly popular Steven Universe is a titan of entertainment all on its own. With a unique art style and very dynamic characters, tons of people praise it for interesting stories and relatable characters. The  Cartoon Network series also gets credit for more representation of characters outside the typical stereotypes and tropes. Now, the cartoon is blasting its fanciful way onto brawler Brawlhalla.

Brawlhalla and Steven Universe are not two properties you would think would come together, but here we are. Four new characters are coming to the game as part of a special crossover event, each featuring different iconic characters from the cartoon series. The new characters are available for 300 Mammoth coins each, and will be in the game as part of the crossover event that runs until December 18th. You can see the new content in action in the trailer down below.

Here’s a description of each fighter and their abilities:

  • Garnet – An Epic Crossover for Petra, she is the gem fusion powered by love. Garnet is “stronger than you” with signature attacks that use her rocket gauntlets and energy blasts to ruthless effectiveness.
  • Amethyst – Amethyst mirrors Xull. She is all about friends and fighting to protect them, Amethyst arrives with signature attacks that use her whips as traps and grabs to stun enemies. Her major damage comes from her purple Puma form.
  • Pearl – This Epic Crossover mirrors Brawlhalla Legend Kaya, with devastating attacks Holo-Pearl and Holo-Rose Quartz. She uses her spear and bow to banish enemies.
  • Stevonnie – Not two people, not one person, but an experience, Stevonnie mirrors Brawlhalla legend Val. They can summon a bubble shield for defense, as well as a magical lion for attacks.

There’s also a new game mode called Bubble Tag coming with this content. As Ubisoft described it, the game is all about trapping enemies in bubbles, yes really. “To trap enemies in Gem Bubbles, players will strike opponents, and enemies in Gem Bubbles have their attacks blocked and have limited movement,” according to Ubisoft. “If their teammates are in Gem Bubbles, players can free them by tagging them.”

And just for giggles, Ubisoft is also including a new Malachite KO effect for use in battle, and bonus daily login gold.

Brawlhalla is available now on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Switch, and is coming to mobile in 2020.
