Boss Key Productions announce next battle royale title, Radical Heights

Radical Heights Game

Boss Key Productions, the folks behind the arena shooter LawBreakers, have announced their next game – Radical Heights.

This newest entry into the crowded, but still outrageously popular Battle Royal genre, puts a unique twist on the theme. By adding a liberal coating of neon, lycra and punk themes, Boss Key hopes that players will be draw in with a much more unique setting compared to other games in the genre. Here’s an official blurb:

Welcome to RADICAL HEIGHTS, a free *X-TREME Early Access* BATTLE ROYALE shooter. Partake in high-stakes battle royale gunplay in a sunny SoCal dome as contestants drive-by on BMX bikes or stalk other contestants from the shadows in search for weapons and prizes…but also CASH that you can bank – win or lose! Whether you spend that cash on righteous customization in your personal prize room or pull it from an ATM to purchase weapons early in the next game — building a wealth of cash is as important as taking down the competition in this irreverent 80s-themed action game show where everyone wants to be rich and famous!

The passion is clear for this new project. The developers are publishing this game themselves, so they’re hoping to avoid pitfalls they have previously fallen into with Lawbreakers Creative Director Zach Lowery says. “We’re huge fans of Battle Royale games along with the bright, inviting irreverence of the 80’s aesthetic. Because of that, we want to put our own spin on the genre and create a futuristic 80’s world that takes place in 2023 during an over-the-top game show where contestants battle it out for fame and prizes.”

The game will be free to play which is a wise decision after the disaster of Lawbreakers but there will be a $14.99 pack available with extras such as items. Let’s hope that Radical Heights can avoid the terrible CCU problems plaguing Lawbreakers, as well as the troubles with loot boxes and predatory monetization models besetting the video game industry.
