A newly revealed Valentine’s Day event in Borderlands 3 called Broken Hearts Day is set to break your heart. The new event is optional, and it can be on or off if you don’t wish to take part. However, to incentivize playing Cupid, Gearbox is offering some special rewards. The Broken Hearts Day event starts on Feb. 13, at 3:00pm PST, and ends on Feb. 20 at 8:59am PST.
The core of this new event, unsurprisingly, is breaking hearts. Players will shoot various hearts that spawn during missions to both gain temporary buffs, and earn long-term rewards. The hearts will spawn around different random enemies, and your job is to shoot both the hearts and the enemies. As you break more hearts, you gain better rewards like weapons and skins. Any earned rewards are sent right to your in-game mailbox, so now trekking around grabbing these goodies.
The rewards for destroying hearts during the event are:
- 10 – “ECHOcardiogram” Echo Skin
- 25 – “Cosmic Romance” weapon trinket
- 50 – Terminal Polyaimorous” Legendary Maliwan SMG
- 75 “Heartbreaker” Vault Hunter Skin
- 100 – “Wedding Invitation” Legendary Jakobs Sniper Rifle
Also, Broken Hearts Day will coincide with an increase in the level cap for the game. Borderlands 3 players should expect Gearbox to push more powerful enemies and challenging content after this. Gearbox is playing things close to the chest for now, but they did tease new content aplenty. As far as we know, the Vault Hunter level cap will jump to 53, and players will be able to unlock new skills and abilities once they get to level 50.
