Bloober Team unveils Layers of Fear 2, due out next year

Layers Of Fear 2 Announced With Reveal Trailer

Project Méliès was teased in March as the codename for the next project from Bloober Team, and now we see what that project is. Turns out that it’s a sequel to Layers of Fear. The incredibly atmospheric horror game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC from 2016 is getting a new entry in it’s series, according to the announcement from publisher Gun Media.

Unlike the first game which took place in an increasingly confusing mansion, the latest entry is taking to the high-seas. But make no mistake about it, there’s no pirate-themed fun rides, and this ain’t a pleasure cruise. Things are about to get really freaking strange. And if the first game was any indication, this game is going to come to define absurdity and thematic scares within a generation of the horror game genre. If you don’t believe us, check out the review we did for the original game.

There are suggestions in the teaser that the story will be slightly similar to the first. What with you playing a struggling artist whose grip on sanity is loosening as they try to complete their magnum opus. Although we can’t confirm anything for sure as this trailer is all we have to go on so far. But judging from that, the strong tone and building sense of dread from the first game will continue in the sequel.

Layers of Fear II will be released in 2019. You can take a look at the spooky reveal trailer for the game down below. Keep an eye on the official site for the game for more news.
