The release date of Season One across the new Black Ops Cold War and free-to-play, free-for-everyone Warzone has been moved from December 10 to December 16. The update will include some fixes for other issues in addition to new content, so expect a pretty big patch on that day. Here’s what we know about Black Ops Cold War Season One for now.
The first round of post-launch content has been described as “the largest free content drop in Black Ops history.” Double XP and Double Weapon XP Weekend and Free Bundles are incoming as well, leading into the new content. Players will be able to experience the new content in lead by a completely new set of four maps presenting some new challenges. Operators, weapons, player progression, and Battle Pass rewards will also be stuck in, to give FPS fans something to chase. Those Battle Pass rewards are massive too, with the Seasonal Pass rewards having up to 1,000 levels of progression.
Black Ops Cold War Season One will be augmented by new gameplay options. That aforementioned new map pack will feature heavily in a revamped playlist. There will be new 6v6 options to take on and more, including a new 2v2 Gunfight mode as well.
There was also news of another content drop for the recent incarnation of Modern Warfare as well. The exact details of that are unknown though, as the publisher was very tight-lipped. All we know for now is that a Warzone update is planned for December 16. They did announce that some new bonuses are being given away to all Black Ops Cold War players.
There will be a pair of free bundles given out to everyone in the game from 10AM PT Dec. 8 and 11PM PT Dec. 15. Here are the details on that.
