Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 battle overview trailer

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 finally has some gameplay to show off to fans, in the form of a new trailer from the devs. In said trailer, we finally get a peek at the way battles will work in-game. Isn’t that what we really care about after all? I know I’m excited even as a casual Warhammer fan to blast some Xenos in an epic space battle, so I’d imagine that more hardcore fans are really happy to finally get some gameplay to sink their teeth into. So without further ado, let’s dig in.

Like I said, this trailer is all about what really matters when it comes to Warhammer 40K, chaotic battles. Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 combines careful strategic choices, like fleet composition, into a realtime battle system that is highly tactical and relies on careful use of coordination and concealment in order to achieve victory.

There are a total of 12 factions in the game, each with their own ship designs and strengths when it comes to offensive and defensive options. What factions players choose to go into battle with, and the loadouts those players bring, will be a big determining factor in who comes out on top in individual engagements. Each faction also possesses unique abilities that might allow them to turn the tide of a losing fight. There’s things like sudden concealing of your units, or easily uncovering the locations of enemy ships to fool around with in this regard.

Bare in mind that this trailer is the first in a series of videos coming for the game in the couple of months we have until release, so expect Tindalos to shine more light on the different gameplay elements and battle mechanics over the coming weeks.
