Battlefield 4 patches crash issues and balances DMR, causes audio issue on some platforms

Battlefield 4

Electronic Arts and DICE have just dropped a 1.23 GB patch for Battlefield 4 on PC and Xbox One. The patch focuses on a few different areas, working out the kinks in the new shooter. Alongside a bunch of crash fixes and bugs being squashed, some new elements have joined the fight. DICE has finally brought forth support for the Mantel graphical API, adding new layers to the visual fidelity of Battlefield 4.

On PC, things seem all good, until PC players noticed something very strange. It seems as though the new Mantle graphical API has a few problems, namely causing audio drivers to stop working randomly.

The audio bug seems intermittent, and DICE is working on a fix. There have not been reports of the bug cropping up on consoles yet, so when the patch drops for other platforms like the Xbox 360, be careful and maybe wait and see if the bug is present before updating if it worries you.

You can see the bug in action below, as posted by players on YouTube. Below that you will also find the full patch notes for the newest patch to Battlefield 4.
