Bannerlord – Birth and Death Setting and How to Disable It

How to sell prisoners in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a pretty unique little sim game of fighting a war in a fantasy-focused medieval setting. You create the leader of a minor faction in the world of Calradia, and then guide you faction to the height of renown and power. Command your armies in massive battles on beautiful landscapes, all while managing political intrigue.

To help with immersion in the game world, this new sequel in the franchise adds family simulations. Yes, you can have kids, if you want. The Bannerlord Birth and Death Setting is how the game manages the process of birthing, and killing off, new characters.

To turn it off, you have to mess with the mod load order. Once you’ve made the change, you can then have kids in-game. This is great for making the game world more immersive but can be annoying to some. If, on the other hand, you choose to disable this option, the character you create will not age. However, they will also lose the ability to have children.

Disabling the Birth and Death option in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is actually easy. When you boot the game via Steam, you will be loaded into a manager. Choose Singleplayer, then click Mods. Go through and tick the option marked Birth and Death Options. This option will be unchecked by default, so you need to turn it on if you want to have full control.

Once you’ve toggled the feature, you can then change the relevant option within character creation. The option for disable death and birth can be turned on only at character creation, and no other time in the game. When you turn it on, you will no longer have kids or have to deal with your leader dying. That’s it, you’re all good to go.
