The strangely charming exploration and crafting space game, Astroneer, comes out of Early Access today. As a small indie team, it’s quite the accomplishment for System Era Softworks to succeed at bringing such an impressive title to launch. Astroneer finished up its run in the Xbox Game Preview program, bringing some new content to the game fans know and love. The latest update for the game brings expanded research elements and new tech, which is pretty cool.
Astroneer is set during the 25th century Intergalactic Age of Discovery, where Astroneers explore the frontiers of outer space, risking their lives in harsh environments to unearth rare discoveries and unlock the mysteries of the universe. The game originally debuted in 2016 and has grown a lot since then.
Check out the trailer for the game down below. The game is currently on sale on the Xbox Storefront for $23.99 (20% off) and is both Xbox One X Enhanced and part of Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning you can play on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
The game features an extremely customizable building and crafting system which allows players to build the space base of their dreams. As you and friends explore planets, you’ll uncover raw resources, alien civilizations and organism, even crashed satellites. Players work together to craft new technology, expand their bases with new refineries and research facilities, and just generally have a blast exploring the alien worlds around them.
The game also features an incredible terrain deformation system which allows players to craft the world around them, so if you need to bridge a gap, you can literally rip the ground apart to build an impromptu bridge.
You can hop into a game with your space-faring friends at any time thanks to the drop in/drop out co-op, so why not launch into this great little game with your bros.
