Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok potentially leaked on Amazon

Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok

With Ubisoft having a somewhat shaky 2019, there’s plenty of reasons to suspect the publisher is looking for a win. With the underperforming launch of Ghost Recon Breakpoint being most obvious, the company could be hurting. Then there were plenty of delays. Ubisoft announced the delay of several titles like Watch Dogs Legion and Rainbox Six Quarantine. The publisher even cancelled that teased sci-fi IP, Pioneer. And now, it looks like a new leak could hopefully revitalize the French company.

Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok potentially leaked this week on various sites. The listings for the new game have appeared on the Italian GameStop site and the German section of Amazon. These kinds of leaks happen fairly often in the games industry. This is usually the result of a couple different flubs. It’s either an overzealous retailer speculating on whether a game or product will be released, and listing the item ahead of a formal announcement; or those same retailers being briefed on new products via SKU or UPC update bundles, and accidentally listing the products within.

As for what this new game could entail, it’s hard to say. The title suggests a more Scandinavian setiing, given the heavy link to Norse mythology. Some fans were hopeful to return to various historical time periods. The series of games has explored cultural and historical touchstones like the French Revolution, Golden Age of Piracy, and so much more. We will just have to wait and see how the ancient war between the Templar and the Assassins unfolds next.

There’s been no official confirmation of course, but it’s interesting nonetheless. As it stands, this is just a rumor at the moment, so take it all with a grain of salt.
