Ubisoft has finally pinned down a release date for the remastered version of Assassin’s Creed III, a remaster that fans have wanted to play for a long time. Now those same fans will finally get the chance when the remaster drops for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on March 29.
The 2012 continuation of the legendary Assassin’s Creed franchise is set during the American Revolution. These formative years for the American republic were a time of great chaos and strife in the real world, and the same is true in the Assassin’s Creed universe as well. And with the fully remastered visual elements, trekking through this iconic period and stabbing Templars in the head never looked this good.
The game tells the stories of Haytham Kenway and Ratonhnhaké:ton, set in the American Northeast from 1754 – 1783, during the French and Indian and American Revolutionary Wars. It also concludes the modern day story of their descendant Desmond Miles.
This re-release also includes a remastered version of Vita spin-off Liberation, bringing in a new singleplayer campaign based around an alternate timeline where Washington went mad and became a King. Yes, that’s perfectly fitting for the bonkers jankiness that is the storyline of the AC timelines.
With the launch of a new comparison trailer, gamers will get to see what the new reworked version looks like compared to the original game. You can find said trailer down below. Ubisoft has made a fair number of improvements over the original game, and it really shines that new trailer. Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered will launch on 29th March on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
