Armor King, Craig Marduk, and Julia announced for Tekken 7

Bandai Namco has announced a new set of roster additions coming to their most recent game in the Tekken franchise, Tekken 7.

There’s a fair few new and returning characters coming to Tekken 7, as a set of new trailers confirm. Armor King, Craig Marduk, and Julia have all been confirmed in various teasers by Bandai Namco.

Armor King is arguably one of the most well-known of the characters. He’s been a staple alongside his long-time friend and rival King since the inception of the franchise. And just like King, Armor King is a Mexican Luchador who is actually an amalgamation of sorts, as two different characters take on the King mantles in different games.

Julia Chang is a later addition to the games, first making her debut in Tekken 3, and going on to appear in every game since then. Her character design and story, much like many other characters in this particular fighting game franchise, has gone through a lot of revisions and changes. Being the adopted daughter of Michelle Chang from the first game, Julia Chang and her adoptive mother actually wound up being quite important. It was an amulet worn by Michelle which which was used by Heihachi to awaken Ogre after all.

Craig Marduk is an interesting addition, being the newest character, only having joined the fray in Tekken 4. I say his inclusion in this reveal is interesting but it’s clearly intentional as Marduk is the one who is responsible for killing Armor King in a street fight. He’s an Australian Vale Tudo practitioner whose skill is matched by his ego.

Bandai Namco also revealed that Negan, the bat-wielding maniac from the Walking Dead franchise is joining the game a while back. There’s some new footage of that character too.

All of these additions to the roster will land as part of the Season 2 Character Pack. You can find preview trailers for all of them down below, so check that out if you wish.
