Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem details Fuse, and new weapons

Here's what we know about Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem

Apex Legends Season 8 is called Mayhem, and it’s going to live up to that name. Respawn promises more details are coming, but things have already been revealed enough to get fans excited. Here’s what we know about Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem so far.

The biggest new addition during the patch cycle for Season 8 is the inclusion of a new Legend, Fuse. He’s a go-getter kind of guy, and really knows his way around explosives. Respawn has already teased a bit of his backstory in the newest “Good as Gold” trailer for the game. It details Fuse’s connections to Salvo and some interesting tidbits about his connection to other heroes in the game. And since he’s dubbed “The Champion of Salvo,” we can expect some flashy things from him. Check out that trailer at the bottom of the post.

Along with Fuse, comes a brand new piece of destructive hardware, the 30-30. The 30-30 Repeater is a bolt-action rifle with incredible range and solid stopping power that adds a new dimension to long-range conflict in the game. There’s a preview image below if you want to take a look at it. Although that’s not all we’re getting, it’s a pretty safe bet that Respawn will be adding some balance adjustments into the mix too.

There’s even a new map planned too, as a full redo of the King’s Canyon map, dubbed Obliterated King’s Canyon. The rework will feature some new blasted ruins to explore and use as cover, as well as major changes to the flow around the map. You’re going to have to learn some new paths and callouts it looks like, if you want to succeed.

Along with all of the new content, the patch that goes live for all versions will include the new Legend, weapons and more. The update is set to land on a bunch of platforms, namely: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. That patch will land on February 2, just before the second anniversary of the game’s launch.
