APEX Legends Patch 1.2 is now available

Apex Legends

Apex Legends, the very popular shooter from EA and Respawn based on the Titanfall setting, has a new update for all platforms today. This is mostly a bug fix update, as it addresses a bundle of ongoing complaints and issues the players have had with the shooter.

A series of UI tweaks have improved the information displayed on the Squad Summary page. And the minimap has also gotten a fresh coat of paint so player direction can now display correctly while in the ship or skydiving. A ton of other bugs to do with clipping, crashes, bugged audio effects and so much more have been fixed with this update as well.

Performance issues have also been dealt with that caused network lag and the infamous rubberbanding common to online games.

One thing that players are going to no doubt be split over is the decision to remove “bunny hop” healing, an exploit that allowed healing on the move while also being a much harder target to hit. It was pretty broken, and Respawn has completely negated the technique. Although it’s use has diminished a fair bit since the game launched and it was officially declared an exploit.

Another issue of game-breaking levels that got patched was the ability for a squad to have more than one of a certain hero in play. This balance-destroying trick has been eliminated in 1.2.
