Apex Legends Is Getting a Halloween Event

Apex Legends Season 3 Trailers

Apex Legends has been a pretty consistent source of hype for Respawn, the Titanfall-inspired battle royale title has grown from its humble beginnings into a competitive entry into the crowded online shooter genre. Being that it’s mostly the product of hype and paid promotion though, many gamers have expected it to flop anytime now. Thing is though, that it hasn’t and a big part of that has been the continued support from EA and Respawn with consistent content updates and patches. A lot of these previous updates have come in the form of new weapons or heroes, but that’s just the start, as Respawn is getting in on the themed event game as well.

According to teasers that have been leaked so far, which are admittedly just a few screens, we can see that things are about to get spooky in the land of Titanfall. The battle royale will be getting some kind of themed content for the spookiest month of the year, but it’s still very unclear what this means. But thanks to some leakers online, players have some idea what expect. For one thing, zombies are coming as a special enemy type to be included with a brand new game mode.

The new game mode is allegedly called Shadowfall, and it will see players romping around a scary new map that’s rife with the undead. The matches in this mode will operate somewhat similarly to normal Apex games, with a few key differences.Taking down these zombies will yield special item drops that can be used throughout the match. There also appears to be a reworked version of the Abandoned Night King’s Canyon map, complete with much more sinister thematic elements.

And of course, players who compete in this event can unlock special new skins for their favorite heroes. And with the recent advent of Season 3, we can only expect the game to get better from here on out.

Apex Legends is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
