All Android launch games on Xbox’s Project xCloud

Xbox officially launches Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for Android

Xbox’s Project xCloud is about to debut for Android devices, bringing more than 100 Xbox titles to new platforms this month. There will be around 150 games on the service at launch, with may supporting cross-play with PC and Xbox too. There are plans in the works to port the cloud gaming service to iOS devices, but that hinges on how Apple wants to run it. They have shown themselves to be very hesitant to allow cloud-based gaming in the past.

As of now, you need Android version 6 or newer to run the app. And you will also require a 10 Mbps connection, either over 5G or WiFi, to run the games in a decent state. Being that it’s cloud-gaming, there may be some hiccups though, so keep that in mind.

If you’re wondering why iOS isn’t supported, it’s because of Apple. The disputes between Epic and Apple over in-app purchases may have something to do with it. Anyway, we may be waiting a while before we see the service on Apple devices.

There will be more “waves” beyond this as well, as this is the second wave for September 2020, and it’s very likely that Microsoft will look into getting more games onto Game Pass in the coming months. Especially around the holiday season we should expect more news on that front. There are already more than 100 games on Xbox’s Project xCloud, and more will come soon.

And yes, it has been confirmed that the service can be bundled with Game Pass Ultimate, priced at $14.99 per month. Here’s a nice little promo that Xbox released
