With another new trailer, it looks like A Plague Tale: Innocence is finally ready to show off more of its terrifying world, or more specifically, the monsters and baddies which inhabit this plague-ridden slice of history. And through this trailer, we see more and more of just how screwed this particular historical setup is. Not only having to flee from ravenous hordes of rats and hungry beasts, Amicia and her brother Hugo also have to deal with Lord Nicholas, the commander of the Inquisition’s forces in the region.
This guy is a no nonsense fanatic, and his evil is matched only by his menace. As the developers put it, “He is brutal and uncompromising, willing to do whatever it takes to complete his mission to capture and return the siblings to his master. Strong, fast, with zealots at his every beck and call, he will be a formidable and merciless foe.”
Focus Home Interactive and Asobo Studio are looking to create a terrifying story that will test both your wits and resolve with this game. As the main characters have to dodge not just the aforementioned threats, but many more insidious and more obvious killers too. The English army, local brigands and a handful of other terrible enemies hunt any and all who might be spreading the horrible plague. And because superstition and ignorance are powerful mechanisms for spreading terror, players may even have to battle their own choices at times, in a manner of speaking. The tone of the game will reflect that desperate struggle for survival as you adventure throughout the land, seeking even the most simple refuge.
