With the explosive popularity of the newest battle royale on the scene, Apex Legends, players have been desperate for more content; or possibly even just a tease of future updates. Well today fans got their wish as the hive of speculation and data mining that has been the primary source of rumors in the community has revealed a pretty major set of leaks.
These new leaks center on roster additions in Apex, totaling eleven new characters in all, fans are really hyped over the possibility of a massive explosion in new roster choices. The potential for shaking up the meta-game cannot be overstated with these new characters, so gamers will no doubt be clamoring for more.
A new crop of data harvested from game files in the popular shooter has revealed some potential leads on new characters. Here’s the full list:
It would seem this list has some credibility, as at least a few of the names were included in earlier data mining findings. Wattson and Octane specifically were already confirmed by these previous leaks. But because the content in these updates is pretty threadbare, there’s not many more details to go on. Octane uses some sort of buffs system through injections, which is interesting. Then there’s Wattson who uses shock traps as an offensive ability. Other than those few elements, we don’t know what skills or weapons these new characters will use. We’ll just have to wait for an official confirmation before we can learn more.
Although that hasn’t stopped the community from trying to guess whether Crypto is a new support Legend, or if Jericho is a new defensive pick. We’ll just have to wait and see.
In other Apex Legends news, EA and Respawn recently introduced the first new weapon into the game, The Havoc energy weapon. There’s also new game and match queuing modes coming in future updates too. Speaking of future updates, Respawn and EA also teased the future of content updates heading into the rest of 2019. It’s almost certain that we’ll get at least some of these newly leaked heroes as part of that content roadmap.
Apex Legends is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
