Starpoint Gemini 2 is a singleplayer space exploration and combat game that draws a lot of comparison between itself and the X Series. The player is tasked with taking their starting ship through missions, industry and combat in an endless quest to become the “king” of the Gemini system. The variety of spacecrafts, weapons, and enemies make the task that much more difficult with a layer of complexity.
Players will eventually upgrade all the way to piloting Capital ships, either by buying or stealing them from the lowly corvette that is the starter ship. The newest DLC to release in November will now add a new Titan class of Super Capital ships. The ships will be tied to the game’s reputation system that will see the player choosing sides in a “cold war” scenario that ends with one major faction coming out on top.
The two previous DLC are the free Origins addon, and the paid DLC campaign addon Secrets of Aethera.
Demonstrating continued support for the game, the developer released a new patch this week, with tweaks and optimizations.
There is further exciting news regarding the highly successful space sim franchise, with the announcement of new DLC for November 2015 (named “Titans”), as well as the message that the strategy-oriented sequel Starpoint Gemini: Warlords is still on course for a Steam Early Access entry during Q4-2015.
